Forest was a group project during my undergraduate in 2010, and it was the first interactive art installation I have ever done. I was in charge of project management, system optimization, and development of some of the animations. The idea behind of this project was simple; the forest has sun, clouds, birds, trees, and flowers. It uses a webcam to capture people’s movement, and the application calculates how many people are in front of the projection moving. If enough actions captured, more clouds would appear, and the trees and flowers would grow up. If no one is standing in front for a period, the clouds will start to disappear, and the sun would grow bigger and bigger. As the results, the trees and flowers would fade off. 🙁
